The Systems Administrator will be instrumental in supporting the IT production environment and its supporting infrastructure. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of cost-effective and timely technical solutions that satisfy business objectives and maintain the reliability of the network and servers environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
•Strong analytical skills and the ability to conceptualize solutions
•Ensure proper application of systems engineering and principles across complete system development lifecycles including working with system decomposition and separation of concerns, specification flow across architectures and system component interoperability
•Provide technical assistance on development efforts
Professional Background
•3+year of experience working in the Information Technology (IT) field in distributed computing projects that vary in size, technology and domain
•2+ years of experience in working, deploying and maintaining infrastructure to support large-scale systems across multiple hardware and software platforms
•2+ years of current Linux Systems administrations (OpenSuse/Ubuntu). Have working knowledge of Linux shell and scripting languages
•1+ year experience with LDAP Administration; Specific experience with OpenLDAP a plus

Education
Bachelor in Computer Science/Engineer, related field or equivalent experience

General Requirements

Knowledge & Skill Requirements
•Knowledge of networking concepts, technologies, and protocols, such as TCP/IP, IPSec, HTTP/S, SFTP, FTPS, DHCP, SMTP, DNS, among others
•Knowledge in hardware (laptops and Dell servers), networking protocols, operating systems, virtualization (VMWare, Xen), email (Zimbra, Scaliz, SendMail), instant messaging (OpenFire), web servers, (Apache), application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, Spring DM Server), message queue servers (ActiveMQ, WebSphereMQ), among others
•Familiar with SQL and SQL performance to be able to provide feedback to the Development and DBA groups; We are a MySQL/PostGre shop
Preferred Knowledge
•Experience with open Source platforms- Eucalyptus, Ubuntu/OpenSuse, Ubuntu LSTP
•Experience with Open Source managmentent Tools- preferred experience with Zenoss, Hyperic, Puppet.
•Experience with Open Source Communications/collaboration-Zimbra, Wildfire, Funambol, Asterisk
•Experienece with Open Source Applications — Alfresco, Liferay
•Experience with OpenSource System Secruity Tools-OSSIM, Snort, Nessus
